Welcome to DESMUN 2023 - the perfect platform for students to interpret, analyse and evaluate the world's problems in an environment that prepares them for solving the concerns of tomorrow. DESMUN is a great opportunity for students to interpret real-life issues that are challenging, provocative and at times, distressing and disturbing. However, they are embraced with a sense of ease and maturity. Under the guidance of this year's Big Four (Anushka, Delina, Purva and Tamara), whose perseverance and passion has enabled DESMUN'23 to grown into nine committees allowing more issues to be discussed, evaluated and analysed.. Alongside the Executive Team, without their desire and proficiency, DESMUN'23 would not be possible. Enjoy the conference.
"Love yourself. Speak yourself. Be yourself."
Hello everyone, I am Anushka Kothekar, the Secretary General for Dukhan English School Model United Nations 2023.
When planning this year's conference, two words were definitely at the forefront of everything and they were “Renaissance” and “Phoenix”. The global pandemic and a worldwide lockdown has tainted our recent years. However, it is in times of uncertainty and confusion, that the phoenix becomes a symbol of strength, transformation, and renewal. Only through rising from the ashes of who we were, can we become who we are to be.
We have put together a transformative conference and I hope you will join us to see our hard work come to fruition.
"Most great people have attained their greatest success one step beyond their greatest failure"
Hi everyone!
My name is Tamara, and I will be your Deputy Secretary General for DESMUN'23.
It is truly an honour for me to be a part of the Big4 and have the opportunity to organise this exceptional event alongside the rest of the executive team.
My favourite part of this journey so far has been working with our talented press team on developing the logo. After a very difficult time when we didn’t know when events like MUN would run again, we’re finally here, and so our logo celebrates the rebirth of DESMUN. We agreed that nothing would suit our theme better than the Phoenix; it rises from the ashes.
I am delighted to see our hard work pay off and to meet all of you on our new campus.
See you in March!
"If it is not going to matter in 5 years, don't spend more than 5 minutes thinking about it."
Hey people! I am Delina, the President for DESMUN 2023.
My entire team and I have been working together for so long to bring the authentic in-person DESMUN experience back to you.
From deciding the theme and the logo, to shooting pre-conference videos/pictures (multiple of them really), we have enjoyed every bit of this journey and have rediscovered why we started our MUN career in the first place.
I am beyond excited to be showing you all what our conference has to offer, and be a part of what perhaps could be one of your best MUN experiences. Let DESMUN 2023 redefine Renaissance and be an example of what the youth can achieve.
"Trust the timing of your life"
Hey guys! I'm Purva, your Deputy President for DESMUN 2023 :)
It's been an amazing journey over the years to become a part of the Big 4, and I'm so excited to see what this year’s conference will bring. Unanimous with our theme of "Renaissance", this is the first in-person DESMUN conference post the pandemic - our intent is to highlight and celebrate the rebirth of the world, and its ability to adapt so quickly to unforeseen changes.
I can't wait to experience all the hard work our executive team has put in with all of you guys, delegates, chairs, and directors alike.
See you soon!!
